Healthcare Technical Writer
Stone Risk Consulting (SRC) is seeking an experienced Healthcare Technical Writer to support the development of standardized Downtime Procedures (DTPs) for a large healthcare organization. This project involves creating clear, structured, and actionable hospital-wide, unit-specific, and asset-specific downtime procedures to ensure operational continuity during IT outages.
Role Overview:

Develop and document downtime procedures for critical hospital workflows, units, and IT-dependent assets.

Work with clinical, IT, and operational teams to translate workflows into clear, easy-to-follow procedures.

Ensure documentation aligns with The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, HIPAA, and hospital accreditation standards.

Support the testing and validation of downtime procedures at two pilot hospitals.
Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in healthcare technical writing, SOP development, or hospital operations documentation.

Strong knowledge of hospital IT systems, EMRs (Epic, Cerner), pharmacy, imaging, and lab equipment.

Experience working with clinical teams, IT, and emergency management professionals to develop workflow documentation.

Business continuity, disaster recovery, or emergency preparedness experience is a plus.

Hours: 30-40 per week (estimated).

Location: Remote, with potential onsite meetings. (Preference for Dallas/Fort Worth Candidates)
